Chartered at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1937, The Delta Xi cast of Alpha Psi Omega was formed to honor outstanding work in theater on the RPI campus. To date, over 300 members have been inducted into our cast.
Although most newly-inducted members of the Delta Xi cast are RPI students, we unhesitatingly accept alumni and community members who demonstrate excellence in any field of performing arts.
Members of the Delta Xi cast create plaques that are hung on a special wall in the RPI Playhouse to commemorate their achievement. Visitors to the Playhouse are encouraged to visit the wall to see the plaques, which are updated with each new pledge class. In addition, members are entitled to a special AYW designation next to their name in the playbills of productions performed by the Cast and the RPI Players.
An open mailing list for anyone who wishes to receive audition notices for the New York Capital District theater scene. Nearly 2800 people currently receive postings from more than 70 local theater companies as well as casting notices for commercials, indie movies, and occasional Hollywood films and Broadway casting calls.
